On 16 June 2026, the SCRREEN3 consortium successfully concluded the in-depth Stakeholder Workshop on Recycling Strategic Raw Materials from Electronic Waste, co-organised with DERA (Deutsche Rohstoffagentur) in Frankfurt, Germany.
The workshop provided a focused and collaborative setting to advance discussions on one of the most pressing challenges in the field of critical raw materials: improving the recovery of valuable resources from electronic waste streams. The session brought together key stakeholders from research, industry, and policy to collectively explore pathways from problem definition to actionable solutions.

The agenda combined thematic working group sessions with a joint plenary discussion, enabling participants to deep-dive into specific material streams while also aligning on broader strategic directions. Working groups examined different aspects of recycling pathways for strategic raw materials, with a particular focus on technical feasibility, value chain challenges, and opportunities for improved resource recovery. The outcomes of these discussions were then presented, assessed, and further refined in an interactive plenary exchange.
A central outcome of the workshop was the shared recognition that addressing critical raw material recovery requires strong cross-sector collaboration, as well as continued dialogue between stakeholders across the entire value chain. Participants also contributed to identifying potential next steps and priorities to support the transition from analysis to implementation.
SCRREEN3 extends its sincere thanks to the co-organisers and facilitators of the workshop, including Alessandra Hool, Dr. Britta Bookhagen, Dr. Tanja Eckardt, Dr. Michael Liesegang, Dr. Luis Tercero Espinoza, and Dr. Vera Susanne Rotter, as well as all participants for their valuable contributions and active engagement in Frankfurt.
