Description
Recycling can contribute to the solution, but cannot be the solution in itself. There are two fundamental reasons for this: recycling processes cannot be 100% efficient, i.e. and for thermodynamic reasons every recycling process entails (dispersive) losses, and the paradigm of economic growth and technological development means that more and different materials are needed to sustain this growth and to support new technologies.
